Overview
Personal Financial Counselor - Wilmington, NC at Magellan Federal. This position provides personal financial services at assigned military installations. Primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families, including one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or other providers or staff, briefings and presentations, and referrals outside counseling sessions. The counselor works with installation leadership and branch POCs to ensure the program remains within scope and meets installation needs. Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families. Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences. Develop and make available informational financial materials for service members and families. Coordinate, publicize and deliver a wide range of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle (e.g., arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and other events described in DoDI 1322.34). Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars. Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication methods (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications, or secure video teleconferencing) as authorized by the OSD FINRED program office. Manage duty-to-warn situations according to DoD protocol. Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trends and issues from the installations assigned. Participate in regular in-services/training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned. All other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree required; may consider an associate degree with 4 years of experience or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. 3+ years of financial counseling experience. U.S. citizen with fluent English; bilingual ability (English/Spanish) may be required by contract. Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 background investigation. Must have one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). General Job Information

Salary Range: Minimum $53,125; Maximum $84,995 Note: This salary range reflects anticipated base pay and may vary by location, experience, and other factors.
