The Encompass Group is working with a reputable concrete manufacturing company that is seeking to add a
Controller
to oversee the accounting operations for their North American offices. This role is based in
Conroe, TX , supporting both the U.S. headquarters and the Canadian branch in Ontario. With a close-knit team of 14 in Conroe and 5 in Canada, they are looking for a strong cultural fit—someone who thrives in a casual, collaborative, and dynamic environment. Base pay range
$110,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr Why This Role?
Strong Leadership Transition : The current Controller is departing on good terms and will oversee onboarding and training for a seamless transition. Hands-on, Multi-Faceted Role : Beyond accounting, you'll be involved in payroll and HR
functions —experience is not required, just a willingness to learn. Autonomy & Impact : As the key financial leader, you will hold fiduciary responsibility, directly advising the President & CEO on all financial matters. Key Responsibilities
Oversee all finance and accounting operations for Topwerk America (Conroe, TX) and Topwerk Services (Toronto, CAN). Prepare monthly/quarterly financials and management reporting packages. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes. Supervise all accounting functions, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and intercompany transactions. Develop and drive finance & accounting KPIs. Monitor financial performance, providing insights to support business decisions. Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes. Conduct treasury management, including detailed cash flow forecasting (six months out). Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax filings in partnership with tax advisors. Oversee risk management initiatives. Manage HR-related responsibilities, including payroll administration, hiring, and onboarding. Serve as the main point of contact for internal financial and administrative topics, collaborating closely with the Group Controlling team and Group CFO. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar. CPA preferred. At least 10 years of accounting and controlling experience. International business and accounting experience preferred.
