Overview

Controller – Conroe, TX | $160,000–$170,000 base + 25–30% bonus + LT/ST incentives Schedule: Hybrid | 2–3 days remote About the Opportunity

I’m partnering with a fast-growing energy technology company that’s redefining how energy is delivered. They’ve built a culture of forward-thinking professionals who believe in collaboration, accountability, and creating real impact. They’re now looking for a Controller to join their leadership team. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for a strategic finance professional who’s eager to build systems, lead people, and help drive the company’s next stage of growth. You’ll own the entire accounting function—implementing ERP systems, leading financial operations, and partnering with senior leadership to shape strategy and scale a business that’s changing the future of energy. What You’ll Be Doing

Lead all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, general ledger, cost and inventory accounting, and revenue recognition. Deliver timely, accurate financial statements and maintain GAAP compliance. Oversee ERP implementation (MS Dynamics 365) and optimize financial tools for efficiency. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Develop and strengthen internal controls, policies, and audit readiness. Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning. Oversee audits, tax filings, and coordinate with external advisors. Support strategic initiatives such as M&A, capital investments, and financial modeling. Build and lead a small accounting team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and growth. Serve as a key advisor to the executive team—providing insights to guide financial decisions. What They’re Looking For

Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA highly preferred). 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in a Controller or senior finance leadership role. Background in energy, power, oil & gas, or manufacturing preferred. Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. ERP implementation experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus). Collaborative leadership style with strong analytical and communication skills. Hands-on mindset with the ability to build processes and teams from the ground up. Why You’ll Love It There

This is more than a Controller role—it’s an opportunity to help build a company’s financial foundation while shaping the direction of an emerging leader in the energy industry. You’ll join a passionate, entrepreneurial team where innovation, integrity, and ownership drive success. Equal Opportunity
