Position Overview
Office Assistant / District Office Assistant (12 months).

Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Assignment: District Service Center
Responsibilities
Processes invoices for payment using Skyward Financial accounting software.
Maintains AP finance system, coordinates AP documentation and prepares reports for the School Board and Sales Tax.
Assists school district staff and vendors by responding to questions regarding accounts payable procedures in a positive and professional manner.
Prepares checks and electronic payment uploads on a weekly basis.
Participates in the biannual election process, including training and performing election duties under the direction of the Coordinator of Purchasing, Insurance & Elections.
Performs other related duties and cross‑training in other accounting functions.
Qualifications
Two‑year business degree or equivalent experience in accounting and accounts payable, procedures and practices.
Knowledge of accounting practices, including accurate calculation of percentages, discounts and sales tax.
Experience with automated accounting systems.
Knowledge of governmental accounting and school district procedures helpful.
Experience with Skyward Finance software and Laserfiche scanning; excellent mathematical skills.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Typing speed of 50 wpm and successful completion of a ten‑key data entry assessment.
Strong time‑management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail, organizational and record‑keeping skills.
Stress management, self‑starter, independent worker, initiative, ability to work under pressure.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; effective verbal and listening communication.
Ability to learn new computer software and stay focused amid interruptions.
Willingness to work with various departments, cross‑train within the Business Office, and participate in professional growth to support organizational growth.
Wages & Benefits Minimum hourly rate:
$26.22 . Medical and dental benefits are available.
