Surgical Technologist / First Assistant

who will prepare and maintain the surgical area, scrub and act as the first assistant to the physician during procedures, assist the RN in technical patient care in the OR, help train others, and serve as a department resource while adhering to relevant protocols and standards. Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain the surgical area, scrub for procedures, and set up the operating room. Assist the physician as the first assistant during procedures and support the RN with technical patient care in the OR. Help train other staff and function as a department resource. Ensure adherence to relevant protocols and standards. Position patients for optimal surgical exposure; ensure comfort and safety. Pad pressure points and guard against nerve damage to prevent injury. Assist with wound dressing selection and drainage systems as needed. Assist with closure of body planes using suturing techniques; support volume replacement or auto-transfusion as needed. Assist with hemostasis by clamping, cauterizing, tying, ligating vessels, and applying hemostatic agents. Provide visualization of the operative site with retractors, packing, and digital tissue manipulation. Qualifications

High School Grad or Equiv Required OR Technical/Vocational School Required 2 Work Experience Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS) Required Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Cert Required Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) Required OR Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) Required OR ABSA Surgical Assistant (SA) Required Benefits & Equity
