Overview

Ally Financial is seeking a CFO Group Business Line Risk Accountant II to assist in the identification and mitigation of risk throughout the CFO Group. This role includes evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of Ally’s internal control environment and supporting management in establishing and maintaining a risk framework for the business line, as well as supporting other established risk processes within the CFO Group Business Line Risk function. The group evaluates the design and operational effectiveness of detective and preventative controls within processes that support financial reporting and other operational processes to foster a robust risk environment. The role requires understanding processes and business cycles, identifying and assessing risks and management’s controls, including those that support Ally’s SOX compliance. The work is performed in a hybrid environment with on-site and other work arrangements discussed during the hiring process. The Work Itself

Coordinate the performance of process and control walkthroughs with management to identify key risks and evaluate related mitigating controls Assess operating effectiveness of identified key controls in conjunction with testing deadlines Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies and related risks, including qualitative improvements in control operations, to minimize deficiencies Monitor management’s action plans for identified issues to support timely remediation and closure of issues Evaluate the preparation of account reconciliations and compliance with enterprise policies; provide feedback to owners in various business lines Coordinate walkthrough debriefs and testing deliverables with internal and external auditors Support the CFO Group Business Line Risk team with special ad hoc projects as needed The Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred Master’s degree preferred CPA, CIA or equivalent a plus 1+ year of previous work experience in Accounting, Audit, Risk, or related field Experience with audit industry documentation standards (workpapers, flowcharting, narratives, walkthroughs, and control testing) preferred Demonstrated knowledge of internal control, risk concepts and auditing standards; controls-based testing experience a plus Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables and v-lookups Detail-oriented, flexible with strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills Ability to work independently and provide frequent updates to team managers on progress and potential issues Ability to recognize opportunities for and initiate process improvements within the team and in business lines Effective written and verbal communication across multiple teams Financial services experience a plus Compensation and Benefits

$55,000 - $95,000 USD. An individual’s position in the range is determined by the specific role, scope and responsibilities, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and other qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. Eligible for incentive compensation under Ally’s annual incentive plan.
