Overview

Senior Appraiser position located in AgTexas' North Texas territory. Salary is negotiable depending on experience. Requires frequent travel within the designated service area and possibly surrounding counties. Title may be varied at the sole discretion of AgTexas based on qualifications. Responsibilities

Prepares valuations or appraisals for loans secured by non-complex agricultural properties and assists with valuations for large and/or complex loans, including specialized or highly improved properties, loans in litigation, foreclosure or bankruptcy, and acquired properties. Performs collateral evaluations in compliance with district and association standards and procedures for properties and other collateral across the territory. Maintains comparable sales data, current improvement cost data, and other resources; communicates land and chattel value trends to management. Reviews content and analyzes fee evaluations used in property evaluations. May review appraisals performed by outside fee appraisers to ensure USPAP and association standards compliance. Prepares collateral evaluation reports and related correspondence. Identifies and attends professional educational courses; documents valuation assignments and work experience as required by TALCB. Offers cost-effective appraisals and related services. Monitors adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations within the appraisal services area. Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in business administration, agricultural economics, finance or related field, or equivalent experience plus at least five (5) years of experience in real estate appraisal with emphasis on agricultural properties or collateral evaluation. General knowledge of property and collateral evaluation methods and of real estate instruments and records. Strong oral and written communication skills. State General Real Estate Appraiser certification required. Job Scope and Purpose

Provides simple to moderately complex appraisals for agricultural properties and assists senior appraisal staff with evaluations of property on large or complex loans. Working Relationships

Frequent interaction with association departmental staff and management, customers, and area professionals including real estate agents and commercial bankers. Occasional interaction with Farm Credit Bank of Texas staff. Qualifications and Attributes

Strong communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to travel within the service area and surrounding counties as required. EEO Statement
