Database Administrator (Oracle (PL/SQL) + PostgreSQL DBA)
Type:
Long term contractual

Pay Rates:
$60/hr On W2 or $70/hr on C2C

Responsibilities
Maintain responsibility for implementing and maintaining CLIENT’S complex Oracle and AWS PostgreSQL databases. Analyze the design, development, and delivery or implementation of data solutions, including architecture design, prototyping of concepts to proof of concept, analysis of the development of standards, design, and test plans, code, module design development and testing, data solution debugging, design and implementation of a solution that follows efficient design techniques, and development that meets and exceeds the intent of the design of the data solution.
Assist with the planning and engineering of CLIENT’S databases. Monitor performance, scalability, and security and evaluate existing database design to determine the necessary updates and integration requirements of a new design and to ensure final solutions meet CLIENT’S needs.
Responsibilities (Detailed)
Install, Configure, Administer, Maintain, Develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of all varieties of databases.
Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
Formulates and implements backup procedures for all CLIENT’S cloud databases.
Perform database related development as dictated by departmental or project demands.
Develop Oracle stored procedures, packages, and triggers to support applications and integrate in-house applications with cloud-based software.
Experience with Cloud database technologies, preferably AWS.
Strong experience with AWS Cloud products (EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda, Aurora, DynamoDB, EMR, DMS data migration, Athena, Glue, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, etc.).
Strong experience with automation tools / scripting or processes.
Must have DB concepts on security, backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, system copies, high availability and disaster recovery strategy, export-import, replication.
Hands-on experience with operating high-uptime databases in both AWS and on-premises environments.
Must have experience with performance management/measurement methods, tools, and techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 8+ years of increasing responsibility administering, optimizing, and maintaining relational databases PostgreSQL and Oracle DB.
At least 8+ years with SQL and Oracle PL/SQL utilizing Packages, Types, Objects, Triggers and Advanced Queuing utilizing Oracle version 19c and above.
Experience supporting web API and applications.
Experience designing and implementing logical and physical database models, including indexes, primary keys, foreign keys, and constraints.
Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Strong SQL programming skills and experience with query optimization techniques.
Demonstrated skill in database operations, including backup strategy, data security and cloud platform.
Proficiency in JSON and PostgreSQL support for JSON.
Experience performing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) techniques.
Experience with AWS Cloud Database Technologies (DynamoDB, AWS CLI, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda, Aurora, EMR, DMS data migration, Athena, Glue, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, etc.).
Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Ansible).
Experience in log analysis, database cloud observability/monitoring tools (Splunk, SolarWinds).
Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Technology.
