Base pay range: $107,500/yr - $153,000/yr
Overview Transplant Coordinator - Kidney Program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. This full-time position is located on the Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights. It involves front-line responsibility for quality and continuity of care, patient and family education, and coordination with potential Living Donors and other health care providers to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Responsibilities
Assume front-line responsibility for quality and continuity of care for transplant patients.
Educate patients, families, potential Living Donors, and other health care providers.
Support patients’ pre-transplant needs and those of potential Living Donors.
Utilize advanced modalities to match donors and recipients, including the Extended Criteria Donor program with newer organ preservation methods.
Provide a patient-focused, personalized approach consistent with the hospital-wide mission of Putting Patients First.
Coordinate and manage on-call responsibilities in addition to the standard Monday–Friday schedule.
Required Criteria
Bachelor’s Degree or 10 years of experience as a Transplant Coordinator in a solid organ transplant program, Organ Procurement Organization, or Dialysis Center
New York State Nursing License or other clinical licensure (e.g., Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner)
Knowledge of patient care and organ procurement
Preferred Criteria
Previous Transplant Coordinator experience
Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC)
Three years of experience coordinating a transplant program
Location and Schedule Location: Columbia campus, Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights. Schedule: full-time, Monday–Friday day shift plus on-call responsibilities.
