$55/hr (Converted to $100k-$130k)

We are recruiting a Mainframe Application Support Engineer responsible for development, testing, implementation, and support of mainframe COBOL based Treasury applications – ACH/PEP+ and ARP/SMS, as well as file transmission setups. Responsibilities

Collaborate with architects, software engineers, business systems analysts, and testing engineers to deliver high quality solutions in the financial treasury space. Code, test, and implement application enhancements meeting defined scope, target dates, and budgets with minimal defects. Maintain and support critical payment processing applications in a 24x7 rotational support environment, responding to incidents and alerts in a timely manner according to priorities. Develop programs to transfer and convert client data, including file transmission set‑up services. Develop processes and procedures to improve time to resolution and team efficiency. Participate in operational readiness key performance initiatives and measure effectiveness of production releases and client onboarding activities. Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity exercises. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to correct recurring issues. Provide clear verbal and written communication to internal and external groups. Develop and maintain strong working relationships and strategic partnerships with key stakeholders/customers across the organization to maximize operational support effectiveness. Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or other applicable field. In lieu of degree, a minimum of 5 years of experience in production operational support. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Job Related Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in Mainframe application development using COBOL, JCL, CA7, VSAM, DB2, MQ, and other IBM utilities. Minimum 5 years of experience in file transmission protocols and tools – Connect: Direct (NDM), SFTP, IBM Sterling File Gateway. 5+ years driving ITIL best practice techniques for service operations including root cause analysis, problem, change, and incident management. 5+ years of relevant experience in a payments or high transaction volume systems. Well versed with all phases of SDLC and Agile Scrum methodologies. Role requires strong technical knowledge across the entire technology stack but is mainly based on Mainframe. Deep understanding of troubleshooting methodology. Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work across multiple teams in a matrixed environment to accomplish objectives. Strong organizational skills with experience working a dynamic work environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to easily adapt and manage changing priorities. Preferred Qualifications

ACH Processing experience. File Creation and Transmission experience. Experience with Fiserv products and services – PEP+ and ARP/SMS. Experience with ServiceNow. ITIL experience or certification.
