Job Title: API Engineer
Duration: 6+ Months (Possible Extension)
Location: Charlotte, NC or Detroit, MI
Job Summary:
Create and maintain technical design documents and requirements, including workflow design for the company's APIs. Participate in design and planning meetings with the company's API customer Programmers and Systems Architects. Work with development teams from project initiation through to production implementation in a consultative role. Provide status updates on assigned project deliverables. Work with application support teams to ensure API environment availability through proactive monitoring and prevention of unplanned outages. Ensure API failures are handled effectively and resolved promptly. Analyze dumps, traces, and logs to determine root causes. Identify and prioritize enhancements to existing APIs and ensure execution per plan. Collaborate with team leads and members to identify service improvement opportunities, actively seek to increase customer satisfaction, define, document, implement, and operate repeatable processes. Identify assumptions, constraints, and manage risks. Design services, applications, and APIs considering security, compatibility, and maintainability. Required Skills:
Experience building API solutions, especially as an integration layer during ERP migration of 40+ systems Proficiency with AWS services: EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, etc. Python scripting skills Experience with Gitlab Terraform knowledge Understanding of DevSecOps and security principles Cloud architecture understanding from a global perspective 10+ years of relevant experience About Matlen Silver:
