The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure, seeks a Junior Engineer. Under the supervision of an Engineer-in-Charge, the selected candidates will receive hands-on training and assist in engineering work related to Green Infrastructure, Cloudburst Management, and other infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include design, drafting, investigations, estimations, specifications, structural computations, field surveys, and site inspections. Authorization to work in the United States is required. The NYC Department of Design and Construction does not sponsor visas or provide extensions for international employees. Minimum Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college. Degrees in other engineering fields or civil engineering technology are not acceptable. Preferred Skills: Excellent communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Knowledge of infrastructure construction (roadways, sewer, water mains) Familiarity with NYC DOT, NYS DOT, NYC DEP standards, MUTCD, AASHTO Understanding of NYC infrastructure and engineering practices Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling; ENV SP credential (preferred) Valid driver's license (required); personal vehicle (preferred) This position is open to qualified persons with disabilities under the 55-a Program.
