This position is a union position; provisions of the relevant collective bargaining agreement/labor contract apply to the filling of this position. Responsibilities
Serves as technical resource person on development and use of computer applications for staff and individuals in custody, often highly complex, to multi-program systems (databases, spreadsheets and word processing) and Local Area Network (LAN). Analyzes operations through feasibility studies for staff and individuals in custody. Instructs staff and individuals in custody on proper design, documentation testing and training for new programs. Functions as a Local Area Network (LAN) administrator and computer system coordinator for staff and individuals in custody. Provides automated and/or manual statistical reports to management relative to volume of users, percentage of use by facility. Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college and two (2) years of office experience, OR completion of high school and four (4) years of office experience, OR four (4) years of independent business experience. Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements. Conditions of Employment
Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. Unauthorized drug use is prohibited. Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting digital enhancements for efficiency and transformation within the department. Applicants must abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set by the employer. The conditions of employment listed are related to the listed job duties. Work Hours
