GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Littleton, CO, looking to add a System Administrator I to their team. This role is a full‑time, on‑site preferred position with flexible remote options for most of the quarter and one in‑person collaboration week every three months. The opportunity supports our partner in the IT systems integration industry, serving mission‑critical environments within defense, intelligence, and federal sectors. Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Windows and macOS environments, including imaging, patching, configuration, and endpoint security. Lead the helpdesk and technical support function manage ticket triage, escalate issues appropriately, and maintain SLA compliance. Participate in after‑hours/on‑call rotation to ensure business continuity and system uptime. Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Azure AD (Entra ID), Intune / Endpoint Manager, Teams, and OneDrive. Support Active Directory and hybrid identity synchronization via Azure AD Connect. Maintain and optimize virtualization infrastructure (VMware / Hyper‑V): provisioning, backups, host performance, and troubleshooting. Operate and troubleshoot rack‑level networking VLAN configuration, switch setup, cabling, and network monitoring. Support and maintain lab and demo equipment (Cisco, Dell, HPE) including setup, teardown, and hardware integration. Implement and uphold IT security and compliance standards, ensuring backups, access controls, and documentation are current. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute infrastructure projects, system migrations, and process improvements. Produce detailed runbooks, diagrams, and incident reports to document procedures and maintain operational consistency. Engage in quarterly collaboration weeks on‑site for planning, knowledge sharing, and team alignment. Qualifications

Required

5+ years' experience in system administration or IT operations within mixed Windows / macOS environments. Proficiency managing Microsoft 365 / Azure AD / Intune tenants. Solid experience with VMware or Hyper‑V virtualization platforms. Knowledge of networking fundamentals VLANs, trunking, routing, and cabling. Prior experience leading helpdesk or support escalation functions. Willingness to participate in after‑hours/on‑call rotation. U.S. citizenship required; clearance eligibility mandatory. Excellent communication, documentation, and process adherence skills. Preferred

Experience in federal or DoD‑regulated environments. Automation / scripting capabilities (PowerShell, Bash). Familiarity with lab/demo hardware management. Certifications such as Microsoft 365, VMware, Cisco, or CompTIA. Exposure to ISO 9001, change management, or information security frameworks. Compensation & Benefits
