Join to apply for the Downstream Process Expert for Data Modeling (x|f|m) - Hybrid role at Sartorius We are looking for a Downstream Process Expert for Data Modeling (x|f|m) for the Data Analytics department based in Sweden, United Kingdom, Netherlands or Germany (Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH). In this role, you will be part of a team identifying and developing next generation downstream (purification) data analytics applications for biopharmaceutical manufacturing. The Corporate Research team has recently developed a range of new modeling methodologies for chromatography and filtration processes using state-of-the-art AI/ML tools. You will be responsible for working with industrial and academic partners to identify and demonstrate applications of these methods for improved process development and more efficient therapeutic production. In addition, you will work with the team to further refine and improve the modeling approaches based on the current Data Analytics product portfolio. This position will join the Product Innovation team consisting of subject matter experts and application developers and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you. This position is available for full-time. It is a hybrid role with the opportunity to work remotely and to work from our Sartorius sites in the mentioned countries. Responsibilities
Work with the various Sartorius business units in coordinating digital solutions with the Sartorius portfolio of downstream process solutions Lead collaborations with academic and industrial partners focused on improving analytical methods for downstream process development and manufacturing Monitor and evaluate developments in downstream process modeling research Collaborate with Corporate Research groups and work with relevant research laboratory teams to run experiments for development and evaluation of digital downstream methods Develop proof-of-concept (PoC) tools which can be passed on to commercial software development teams What will convince us
Ph.D. in chemical engineering, physics, biotechnology or similar with an excellent track record of publication in peer-reviewed journal articles on downstream biopharmaceutical processes Experience with development of continuous downstream processes within pharmaceutical Industry Strong background in physics-based modeling Strong communication skills and experience presenting scientific results to academic and industrial audiences Fluent in scripting languages, e.g. Python, R, Julia or Matlab for execution of data science studies required Self-motivated and comfortable working independently Experience with optimization schemes, specifically focused in downstream bioprocesses preferred Ability to develop prototype software for real-time simulation and control applications Identification with our core values: Sustainability, Openness, Enjoyment For candidates in the UK: You will need the right to work in the UK in order to commence working with us.
