Position Summary
William Wetsel Middle School is seeking a Secretary/Bookkeeper. The successful applicant should possess intellectual depth and breadth, a strong work ethic, a capacity for communication and leadership, noteworthy financial experience, an appreciation of innovative practice, and a track record of proven achievement. The candidate must also possess the capacity to demonstrate flexibility in work requirements and responsibilities assigned. Required Qualifications
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with team members and with the public. Advanced knowledge of accounting procedures and budget analysis. Proficiency with basic record keeping programs and office instruments, to include but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, fax, phone, copiers, and other equipment. Ability to create computer spreadsheets and reports. Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving stooping, kneeling, crouching, pulling or pushing, and carrying of objects and materials of moderate weight. Must have the ability to represent an outstanding school by maintaining high standards and ethics every day. Maintain confidentiality of departmental items and documentation. Attend meetings with school administrators when required. Primary Responsibilities
Purchase supplies for office and process all purchase orders. Maintain accurate and up to date records and ensure approvals and payments are made on a timely basis. Provide secretarial support/assistance to the Assistant Principal and Principal. Receive and direct incoming calls and queries and accurately record or notate patron needs. Maintain records, review for accuracy, and prepare various Office documents. Operate data processing equipment. Process incoming and outgoing mail. Verify approval on all invoices and check requests. Other duties as assigned by Principal. Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $37,090 - $51,932 (commensurate with experience; will be prorated based on start date; 12 month, 260-day contract). A benefits package is available to include sick leave, personal leave, Virginia Retirement System, and partial payment for health insurance. Application Details
