Job Description Washington Gas (WGL) has an immediate opening for a Contractor Support Associate I to serve as a first‑level liaison between Field Operations and contractors for Washington Gas with respect to customer issues, invoice reconciliation, and validation for meter set, meter relocation, and meter compliance tasks resulting from customer or construction‑generated requests.

Responsibilities

Serve as liaison with Operations, Construction, Replacement, Customer Services, and Corporate Relations management teams to communicate project status to internal and external audiences, including customers, contractors, and community representatives.

Act as primary contact for incoming telephone or written inquiries regarding work performed by meter contractors for Washington Gas and work closely with internal and external construction and operations personnel to resolve issues with mutually agreeable solutions.

Review results of post‑job customer feedback surveys and compile and report on results.

Prepare and distribute reports on various projects completed by Meter and Regulator contractors; monitor and report on process performance and complaint resolution.

Identify, recommend, and implement improvements and updates to customer‑requested work processes/solutions to optimize workflow and efficiency.

Validate contractor’s performance and billing and hold the contractor accountable for results based on contractual agreements and established performance standards; process all monthly accruals for Management’s signature.

Use Washington Gas (WG) systems of records (SAP, EPRO, ARM) to document work, generate reports, and otherwise complete assignments.

Coordinate meter sets with contractors and builders (external customers), including establishing customers’ accounts as needed.

Monitor the O&M and Capital budgets.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required.

At least 0–2 years of experience ideally in Utility Operations or Construction.

Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, to share, retrieve, research, and present business information logically and concisely verbally and in writing.

Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors, and peers and to resolve customer issues to the mutual benefit of the Company and the customer.

Experience with revising budget reports preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of invoice processing or accounting functions preferred.

Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000.00 to $79,500.00 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
