The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the seamless execution of high-quality meals for weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions.

Your Responsibilities
Food Preparation:
Assist the Executive Chef in the preparation of high-quality dishes for all events, ensuring the menu reflects the venue's standards and client preferences. Kitchen Operations:
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, while maintaining the kitchen’s cleanliness and organization. Team Leadership:
Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring that all culinary team members are performing their tasks to the highest standards of efficiency and quality. Menu Development:
Collaborate with the Executive Chef on seasonal menu changes and contribute creative ideas for event-specific menus. Inventory Management:
Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper food storage to minimize waste and maintain freshness. Quality Control:
Monitor food presentation and portion control to ensure consistency and meet Morningside Inn’s standards for excellence. Event Execution:
Support the Executive Chef in executing large-scale weddings and events, ensuring that all meals are prepared and served on time, and adapting to last-minute changes as needed. Health & Safety:
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation standards, and the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and facilities. Collaboration:
Work closely with the catering and service staff to coordinate food service for events and ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams. You'll Enjoy These Benefits

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role, preferably in a banquet or catering environment Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety standards Ability to manage and lead a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment, especially during high-volume events Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required by the event schedule Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality food Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred Experience in catering for weddings or large events Knowledge of current culinary trends and a passion for creating innovative dishes Ability to adapt menus based on seasonal ingredients and client preferences Together, We Will Achieve
