The purpose of this position is to protect and serve the city's property and citizens by patrolling, recognizing and citing offenses, and making arrests when necessary. Responsibilities include promoting a secure environment, enforcing traffic laws, reporting motor vehicle accidents, investigating crimes, maintaining community relations, and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide supervisory duties. The Allen Police Department is accepting applications for the position of TCOLE certified Lateral Police Officer. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit an online application. After application submission, instructions will be emailed for completing the Personal History Statement and Preliminary Interview packet. Selected candidates will be contacted for testing and interviews. Passing all phases is mandatory for hire. In-State Lateral Requirements

Possess a valid TCOLE license Possess a current and valid Driver's License Be at least 21 years old Have at least 45 college credits with a GPA of 2.0+ and two years of full-time law enforcement experience with arrest powers, or a high school diploma plus three years of experience The Chief of Police will evaluate experience to determine eligibility. Attendance at a police academy may be required.
