SELECTION PROCEDURE:
This is an
OPEN
recruitment to establish an eligibility list, fill vacancies, and hire substitutes. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent employees. The eligibility list will be used to fill permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list. Positions in this classification are part-time (17.5-30 hours/week), 10 months per year, 196 days. The recruitment process will consist of a written examination and oral technical interview. Testing may occur on a weekly basis. Qualified applicants will be notified by US mail or email. SALARY:
Tier I Step 1: $18.78 – Step 5: $22.82 (Hourly) Step 1: $3,256 - Step 5: $3,956 (Monthly, Full-Time) Tier II Step 1: $22.49 – Step 5: $27.36 (Hourly) Step 1: $3,898 - Step 5: $4,742 (Monthly, Full-Time) Under the direction of an assigned administrator, assist a certificated teacher in providing academic and behavioral support to individuals or groups of students in an assigned special education program; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; perform a variety of clerical duties in support of the instructional program. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year of experience working with children in an organized setting. Some positions in this class may be required to speak a second designated language. Successful completion of the District's competency test in reading, writing, and mathematics is required before employment. Some positions in this class may be required to receive training and direction from a Registered Nurse to administer medical treatments and medications to students with special health conditions.
