Savannah State University\'s Department of Engineering Technology invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Physics position beginning Fall 2025. The role supports the department\'s mission of teaching excellence, applied research, and industry engagement. The instructor will teach 15 credit hours of undergraduate Physics courses per semester, participate in curriculum development, and contribute to student recruitment and retention efforts. The instructor is expected to maintain regular office hours for academic support and mentoring, and to collaborate with faculty and industry partners to ensure the curriculum reflects current academic and professional standards. This position does not offer sponsorship for employment visas. Responsibilities

Effectively teach college-level physics courses from the approved curriculum with an assigned schedule. Maintain current instruction and discipline-specific knowledge through professional development, seminars, certifications, and conferences. Provide mentoring to program students and student organizations. Engage in student success activities. Perform program assessment as assigned. Deliver quality instruction ensuring student satisfaction using different teaching techniques. Assist students in achieving objectives. Motivate students to actively participate in learning physics. Advise students on academic matters. Participate in SSU recruitment and retention initiatives. May be required to perform other job-related duties. Required Qualifications

Master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Physics Knowledge of algebra-based and college physics labs Ph.D. in Physics preferred Minimum of 2 years teaching experience at an accredited institution is a plus Proposed Salary

$52,000.00 to $57,500.00 annually Apply Before Date
