We're partnering with an excellent school district in Boulder County, CO, to find a Special Education Teacher for the 2025–2026 school year.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs at one of our elementary schools. The teacher will collaborate with general education staff and families to create inclusive, supportive learning environments that promote student success.
Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Boulder, CO
Expected Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
Responsibilities
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, or life skills areas.
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff.
Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Use data to inform instructional decisions and IEP goals.
Support student transition planning and skill development for post-school outcomes.
Qualifications
Hold or be eligible for a valid Colorado Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
Meet all state and federal Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) requirements under IDEA and ESSA.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Successful completion of a state-approved educator preparation program in special education.
Pass required Colorado State Board of Education-approved content exams (e.g., Praxis for SPED).
Master's degree preferred
