A day in this role
You arrive for second shift, review the work orders, and begin by confirming cure and color using the appropriate powder chip. You pull the specified powder from our paint vault inventory, set oven temperatures per manufacturer recommendations, and dial in the powder coating equipment. With a steady hand and a sharp eye, you apply powder to parts, achieving the required finish and thickness, then inspect every piece against customer specifications. Between color changes, you break down and clean the gun, booth, and filters. You wrap up by moving materials as needed and keeping the area spotless.
Schedule
Second Shift: 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday through Thursday
What you’ll do
Verify cure and color with a powder chip before each run.
Retrieve the correct powder from the paint vault for each job.
Set up and adjust coating equipment; set oven temperature based on manufacturer specifications.
Apply powder to parts to meet customer and manufacturer requirements.
Inspect coated parts for compliance with all specifications.
Clean gun, booth, and filters between powder changes.
Move materials and maintain housekeeping standards.
What you bring
Education: High School Graduate
Experience: Two years’ powder coating or equivalent
Skills: Strong eye/hand coordination, finger dexterity, and excellent color sensitivity
