Cosmic Design Studio is seeking a visionary Pool & Outdoor Living Designer to orchestrate the complete backyard lifestyle for our discerning clients.
This is not a landscape design role; this is an architectural design role for the outdoors. If you are passionate about crafting holistic environments that blend water, fire, structure, and comfort, we want you to lead our projects.
As our
Pool & Outdoor Living Designer , you will be the master architect of the complete outdoor space. You will own the design from the back door to the property line, ensuring every element—from the pool and spa to the custom outdoor kitchen and shade structures—is perfectly integrated. Your focus will be on creating functional, sophisticated “outdoor rooms” that define our clients’ lifestyles. Responsibilities
Holistic Environment Design: Develop comprehensive masterplans for entire outdoor properties, focusing on spatial planning, circulation, and the seamless integration of the pool with hardscape and architectural structures. Architectural & Structural Design: Design and detail all hardscape and structural elements, including multi-level patios, custom pergolas, cabanas, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, and complex fire and water features. Material & Finish Curation: Select and specify a sophisticated palette of materials for paving, decking, countertops, and vertical surfaces, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic that complements both the home’s architecture and the pool design. Functional Zone Creation: Expertly plan and design distinct outdoor “rooms” for entertainment, dining, and relaxation, integrating features such as state‑of‑the‑art appliances, media zones, and advanced lighting. Technical Documentation: Produce detailed and precise construction documents that clearly articulate the design intent for all hardscape, structural, and feature elements. Qualifications
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or a related design field. 5+ years of professional experience
focused on designing high‑end, integrated outdoor living spaces and custom pools. A portfolio that powerfully demonstrates your ability to design cohesive outdoor environments, with a strong emphasis on hardscape, custom structures, and pool integration. Skills & Expertise Design Software: Advanced mastery of CAD, SketchUp, and photorealistic rendering software is essential. Revit is a plus. Construction Knowledge: Deep understanding of hardscape construction methods, material properties, drainage, and the structural requirements for outdoor elements like pergolas and retaining walls. Design Sensibility: A sophisticated eye for space, form, and material composition, with the ability to design across a range of architectural styles. Benefits
