Retail Associate - Full Time (Covington Plaza) – Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc. is looking for Retail Associates for our stores in Fort Wayne, IN. The role is the face of the organization, assisting customers, operating the POS, maintaining the sales floor, sorting donations, and supporting donors with tax receipts. Salary: $15.75 - $16.75 per hour. Responsibilities

Operate cash register, give correct change and receipts, and bag purchases. Accept credit cards according to established procedures. Maintain cash register area, floor, and fitting rooms; assist customers with inquiries and problems. Assist with sorting, tagging, and stocking merchandise; sort and grade donations as needed. Assist donors by bringing donations into the building and issuing tax receipts. Follow safety rules and workplace policies; adhere to quality and production standards. Provide professional customer service and refer issues to management when needed. Perform other duties to support the mission of Goodwill as assigned by management.

Qualifications

No specialized educational requirements; on-the-job training provided. Minimum of three months’ working experience preferred. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally; push/pull heavy items; count back change; and operate a POS terminal. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings; team-oriented mindset. Subject to background check and random drug testing per Drug-Free Workplace Program; comply with Goodwill’s Code of Ethics.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

Basic literacy to complete forms and handle standard transactions. Ability to make change and manage cash accurately.

Attendance & Performance

Attendance is essential; an assigned rotation helps plan around work schedules. Performance reviews occur at 30, 60, and 90 days and annually with the Store Manager.
