Role Overview We are seeking a results-driven Remote Sales Specialist with a strong food science background and a proven sales track record in maltodextrin and food additives. In addition to driving new business, this role requires active involvement in completing QA/documentation and ensuring regulatory/compliance alignment. You will manage end-to-end sales across targeted customer segments, grow maltodextrin and related additives, support QA documentation workflows, and represent our brand with integrity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Drive new business and maintain existing relationships with customers in the Food, Feed, Nutrition, and Pharmaceutical sectors.
Prospect, qualify, and convert leads into orders for maltodextrin, sweeteners, thickeners, stabilizers, enzymes, emulsifiers, and other relevant food additives.
Develop and execute strategic account plans for key customers (manufacturers, processors, R&D labs, hospitals/clinics, formulators).
Lead product presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions; translate customer needs into tailored solutions.
Provide technical guidance on product selection, usage, dosage, compatibility, and regulatory considerations.
QA/Documentation support:
Collaborate with QA/QC and Regulatory teams to prepare, review, and finalize QA documentation (spec sheets, certificates of analysis, supplier declarations, suitability letters, SOPs as applicable).
Assist customers with documentation requirements for audits, certifications, and regulatory submissions.
Ensure traceability and alignment of product specifications with QA/QC standards in all sales activities.
Regulatory & Quality: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (food safety, labeling, traceability) and maintain up-to-date QA/QC standards; assist in maintaining regulatory documentation as needed.
Collaboration: Work with internal teams (marketing, operations, QA, regulatory, logistics) to ensure timely quotations, accurate pricing, inventory visibility, and on-time deliveries.
Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and dashboards; maintain up-to-date CRM records; track QA/documentation completion status.
Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts; manage risk and ensure profitable deals aligned with company policy.
Brand Representation: Act as a brand ambassador, upholding Agrade Ingredients’ values: Reliable, Quality, and Responsible.
Travel: Travel as required to meet key customers, participate in trade events, and provide on-site support.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
Experience: Proven sales track record in maltodextrin and/or food additives (minimum 3–5+ years preferred) with measurable outcomes (quotas met/over target, major wins, key national/global accounts).
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of maltodextrin properties, applications, sourcing challenges, regulatory considerations, and common additive systems (thickeners, stabilizers, emulsifiers, processing aids).
QA/Documentation Experience: Familiarity with QA/QC processes, product documentation, and regulatory submission support; ability to contribute to the generation and upkeep of QA-related documents.
Regulatory & Quality: Knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory frameworks relevant to Singapore and target markets (e.g., FDA/EFSA guidelines, local regulations, labeling requirements). Understanding of traceability, QA procedures, and audit readiness.
Skills:
Strong consultative/Solution-selling capabilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to translate technical details into business value.
Customer-centric with strong relationship-building abilities.
Proficient in CRM (e.g., Salesforce/HubSpot), ERP/inventory visibility, Excel/analytics.
Self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working remotely with disciplined time management.
Language: Proficiency in English; additional regional languages a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling to multiple industries (Food manufacturers, Pharma formulators, R&D labs, Hospitals/clinics).
Familiarity with regional supply chains, import/export considerations, and logistics constraints.
Existing network of maltodextrin/additives buyers or distributors in Asia-Pacific.
