Service Innovation & Strategy - Senior Analystical Engineer (m/f/d)

Job Overview
We are looking for an Analytical Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen our BI & Analytics capabilities in MediaMarktSaturn. This role bridges data engineering and business analytics, ensuring reliable well‑structured and business‑ready data flows in our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
Responsibilities
Data transformation and pipeline management: design, optimize and maintain production‑grade data pipelines in BigQuery.
Data mart development: translate business requirements into technical KPIs and implement within the data mart layer.
Migration support: participate in the migration from SAP BO to GCP/Looker, analyzing legacy reporting and defining equivalent solutions.
Gap analysis and integration: identify missing data points, evaluate dependencies and coordinate with Data Engineering for completeness.
Data quality and governance: implement monitoring, testing and documentation frameworks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Stakeholder collaboration: partner with business teams and analysts to align technical solutions with business needs.
Reporting enablement: develop standardized reporting layers (Looker Studio/ML) and prevent inefficient ad‑hoc reporting.
User training and support: occasionally facilitate training sessions and provide support to enhance adoption of reporting tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in relevant fields.
Advanced expertise in GCP, especially BigQuery; proven experience designing, optimizing and maintaining production data pipelines and marts.
Advanced SQL skills with query optimization and performance tuning on large datasets.
Proven experience with Git version control, branching, pull requests and code reviews for SQL models and pipelines.
Experience with data pipeline orchestration and automation (dbt, Airflow, Dataflow, Spark or similar).
Track record in data modeling and mart development: star/snowflake schemas and KPI logic implementation.
Strong ability to design and document migration paths for Data Engineers and stakeholders.
Hands‑on with BI/visualization tools (Looker Studio/ML) focused on standardized reporting layers.
Several years of relevant experience as BI/Analytical Engineer, Data Engineer or Senior Data Analyst.
Proficiency in English.
