SENIOR
PROCESS CONTROLS ENGINEER
for a client in the Greenville, NC area (Chemical Manufacturing). This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global manufacturer of specialty engineered materials, performance fibers, advanced composites and color and additive solutions. The Senior Controls Engineer will lead automation strategy, OT cybersecurity, and process control improvements at a world-class production facility. This role translates operational needs into cutting-edge control system solutions that improve plant reliability, efficiency, and data-driven performance. What You Will Do
Design and implement advanced automation systems (DCS, SCADA, MES, data historians) that drive plant performance. Maintain and optimize process control systems to ensure consistent product quality and operational excellence. Identify and execute system upgrades to stay ahead of production goals and regulatory requirements. Integrate OT cybersecurity best practices into every layer of automation architecture. Troubleshoot complex control challenges and deliver high-impact technical solutions. Leverage data analytics to improve visibility, decision-making, and process efficiency. Standardize controls and systems to ensure reliability and seamless operations across sites. Lead automation strategy for capital projects, expansions, and technology upgrades. Mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams—process, quality, and instrumentation engineers. Participate in the automation on-call rotation to support continuous operations. Champion safety and compliance in all automation initiatives. What We Are Looking For
B.S. in Electrical or Controls Engineering (or related field). 7+ years of experience in automation and process control within a manufacturing environment. Proven expertise with DCS, SCADA, and automation platforms—including Siemens TIA Portal and PCS 7. Solid understanding of OT cybersecurity risks and mitigation strategies. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS), Microsoft OS, and networked environments.
