Onsite:
The successful candidate will be expected to report to our engine assembly plant in Flint, Michigan, five times per week, at a minimum.
The Role (Responsibilities): We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative
Supplier Quality Analyst
to join our team at a high-volume engine manufacturing facility. This role is essential in ensuring that all incoming components and materials from external suppliers meet rigorous quality standards before integration into engine production. The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers, engineering, and production teams to drive quality improvements and ensure compliance with industry and internal standards.
What You’ll Do:
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance using key metrics, such as PPM
Set up containment activities for suspect and/or non-conforming supplier parts
Collaborate with other Quality personnel to ensure suspect/non-conforming materials are contained properly
Develop and manage inspection plans for incoming materials and components
Investigate non-conforming materials and lead corrective action processes with suppliers
Facilitate root cause analysis using tools such as Red X, Fishbone diagrams, and 5 Whys
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including external suppliers, purchasing, engineering, and production
Participate in APQP and PPAP activities for new product launches and process changes
Maintain documentation such as audit reports and supplier quality records
Participate in quality audits and reviews as necessary (i.e. BIQ, internal assessments)
Attend cross-functional meetings and quality reviews
Manage 3rd party onsite inspection services for supplier parts
Participate in 3rd party inspection services’ SOTs and BPD reviews
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
5+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or engineering
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field
Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external suppliers
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
General knowledge of print: reading, interpretation and part measurement
Customer-focused mindset with managerial courage
Effective decision-making
What Will Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications):
Previous experience in engine manufacturing or automotive supplier quality
Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and launch readiness processes
Knowledge of machining, casting, or electronics components
Knowledge of engine manufacturing processes
Hands‑on experience on the production floor
Excellent multi‑tasking skills
