Role Overview
This role is responsible for translating high-level strategic goals into actionable supply chain roadmaps—and executing them with precision. It requires a dynamic leader who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on contribution, building scalable systems while rolling up their sleeves when needed. The Senior Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Contracts & Supply Chain, who will provide overarching objectives and vision. The expectation is to operationalize that vision, lead cross-functional initiatives, and deliver measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support Capella\'s mission, growth, and operational resilience
Lead sourcing, negotiation, and contract execution for direct materials, indirect services, and complex subcontracts
Build and mentor a comprehensive supply chain team covering subcontracts, direct procurement, indirect procurement, and supplier management
Translate strategic goals into detailed execution plans, including KPIs, timelines, and resource allocation
Act as both a leader and individual contributor—able to dive into tactical work while guiding broader initiatives
Drive supplier development, performance management, and risk mitigation across the global supply base
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Legal, and Finance to ensure seamless execution and alignment
Ensure compliance with applicable U.S. government regulations (FAR/DFARS, ITAR) while integrating commercial best practices and agile procurement methodologies
Leverage digital tools and analytics to enhance visibility, forecasting, and decision-making
Support proposal development and customer engagements with strategic supply chain inputs
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field (Master\'s preferred)
10+ years of progressive experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech supply chain roles
Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, supplier development, and contract lifecycle management
Deep understanding of government contracting, export controls, and commercial procurement frameworks
Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
Experience with ERP systems and supply chain analytics platforms
U.S. Citizenship
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable. Compensation
The annual salary range for this role as it is posted is $136,000 - $180,200. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
