The Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing all phases of projects from the handoff from estimating to completion, ensuring the client's requirements are met and that jobs are completed ahead of schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company safety, quality, and procedural standards. Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Equivalent — or — a combination of technical training and experience. Practical Knowledge:
Construction Means & Methods, Project Control Systems, Math and Complex Calculations, Critical Thinking as it applies to the breakdown and interpretation of Specifications and Plans, Scheduling, Data Analysis, Organizational Methods, Writing, Verbal Communication Skills, and Leadership. Work Experience:
Minimum 7-10 years experience managing projects for a general contractor focused on building water and wastewater treatment plants, as well as other highway heavy, industrial, or commercial construction projects. Successful Personality Traits:
Pro-active, trustworthy, and flexible industry-savvy leader striving to be a role model with the ability to adapt quickly to change using industry knowledge, an open mind, creativity, common sense, strong communication skills, political sensitivity, effective negotiating skills, and the art of winning respect.
