Your work will support public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.

Location United States – Tennessee – Chattanooga

Responsibilities

Manage all concept and design aspects of small to medium multi‑discipline planning and design projects or large, routine projects; serve as design manager on large, complex multi‑discipline planning and design projects.

Coordinate the work of engineers and balance team planning throughout the project’s development.

Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.

Participate in reviews with regulatory agencies to ensure code compliance.

Conduct work sessions for design development and contract documents in conjunction with other staff.

Coordinate workload throughout the entire project development and ensure completion of documents on schedule.

Track financial aspects of projects, coordinate and adjust work effort with the team to ensure work is completed within the parameters of the agreed‑upon scope, schedule, and budget.

Work with the Business/Accounting Manager and/or Project Coordinators for project reviews and with company management as needed.

Work with internal and external resources to put together contract drawings and documents in accordance with HDR’s quality standards.

Manage construction phase services such as submittal, shop drawing, and RFI review, coordination, and correspondence.

Manage technical components of pursuits and work with the marketing team to produce high‑quality pursuit documents.

Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Strong technical writing and presentation skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

7 years related experience.

Minimum 2 years project management experience.

Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).

MS Office and MS Project experience required (Access experience would be a plus).

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Active participant of an employee‑owned culture is a must.
