We encourage you to apply for the positions for which you meet the qualifications. Job Summary Murphy is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Supply Chain Manager to join our team. The role is responsible for developing and delivering on SCM strategic initiatives. This role focuses on transitioning the SCM team from a transactional focus to a more strategic mindset, building out a strategic sourcing team over the next 3-5 years, and enhancing supplier relationship and category management efforts. This advisor position will work closely with various departments to improve collaboration, strategic business relationships, and the planning and budgeting process. The Supply Chain Manager will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote. Responsibilities Develop and deliver on SCM strategic initiatives, including the SCM 1-3-5-year plan. Work with HR on the development of the SCM career ladder and establish a process to review skill levels within the SCM team. Establish comprehensive training and development programs to transition the SCM team to a strategic focus. Build out a strategic sourcing team over the next 3-5 years. Review the current system landscape to identify areas for improvement in buying channels. Collaborate with the systems team to identify and implement tools that enhance supplier relationship and category management. Identify pertinent sources of market intelligence to support SCM and operations during negotiations. Develop and deliver SCM Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and communicate them throughout the organization. Partner across business units to improve collaboration and strategic business relationships. Develop and train staff in sourcing methodology and collaborate with suppliers to assess emerging opportunities. Identify and develop sourcing strategies to deliver demonstrative savings and improve internal efficiencies. Develop vendor performance assessments and ensure supplier performance requirements are established in contracts. Work with the Performance and Planning team to better incorporate SCM into the planning and budgeting process. Lead the SCM Ambassador program. Prepare and deliver departmental presentations. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline or higher. Minimum of 15 years experience in upstream oil and gas supply chain. 5 or more years experience in a supply chain leadership role is preferred. Achievement-oriented, decisive, team and customer-oriented, analytical, strong communicator, and innovative. Ability to work with and lead senior multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams. Proficient with SAP, Ariba, Icertis, or similar ERP tools. Strong leadership and team-building skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in MS Office Suite and procurement software. The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs.
