Structural Metal Design Engineer / Detailer
This full-time, permanent position focuses on creating impactful and specialized designs for unique, large-scale motorized door systems, ideally suited for industrial environments. Based in a newly-built, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Caledonia, Wisconsin, this role offers a chance to be part of a company known for its stability and resistance to economic downturns. Salary:
$55,000 - $65,000 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Creating detailed 3D models and production drawings for custom large-scale motorized door systems. Custom designing projects to meet specific client needs within industrial environments. Producing comprehensive technical documentation necessary for both fabrication and installation processes. Collaborating closely with project teams to ensure design accuracy and quality from concept through to completion. Managing project timelines and deliverables, ensuring they meet specified standards and client requirements. Continuously enhancing personal CAD skills and staying updated with industry trends and technology advancements. Minimum Position Qualifications: Associate's degree with a focus on architectural and structural steel design. At least 2 years of hands-on design experience in a similar role. Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Tekla. Strong foundational knowledge in structural principles and materials adopted in industrial environments. Ability to collaborate in a team setting and work independently when needed. Should reside within a 45-minute commute of the workplace in Caledonia, Wisconsin. Must be a United States citizen or possess a Green Card. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in designing mechanical and electrical components for specialized structures. Understanding of electrical schematics and integration into physical designs (preferred but not mandatory). Prior experience working directly on-site and managing aspects of the physical construction or assembly. Experience working on projects for governmental entities or large-scale commercial ventures. Skills: Advanced ability in using CAD software for 3D modeling and technical documentation. Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to create innovative design solutions. Excellent organizational skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
