Location Description
Located at the base of Snow King Mountain, a few blocks from downtown and 20 minutes from Jackson Hole Airport, Snow King Resort Hotel offers breathtaking views of the Teton Mountain Range and a wide variety of activities and amenities. As Jackson’s largest venue, Snow King Resort Hotel provides over 20,000 square feet of combined indoor and outdoor function space. The property features 203 guest rooms and vacation luxury condo rentals.
Overview
Position Summary
The Hotel Engineering Manager oversees the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of all hotel facilities, systems, and equipment. This role ensures the property is well-maintained, energy-efficient, compliant with safety regulations, and aligned with brand standards. The Engineering Manager leads the maintenance team to deliver excellent service that supports both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
Supervise, train, and schedule the engineering and maintenance team.
Conduct performance evaluations, coach staff, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and service.
Coordinate with other departments to address maintenance and facility needs promptly.
Facility Operations & Maintenance
Oversee daily operations of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems.
Ensure guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house, and exterior spaces are well-maintained.
Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including fire, health, and safety codes.
Oversee inspections and maintain documentation of equipment, safety checks, and certifications.
Implement and enforce workplace safety standards and procedures.
Project & Budget Management
Support the management of capital improvement projects and renovations in coordination with ownership/management.
Control departmental budgets, monitor expenses, and manage vendor contracts.
Source and negotiate with contractors, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Sustainability & Efficiency
Monitor energy usage and develop initiatives to reduce utility costs.
Recommend and implement environmentally friendly practices to align with sustainability goals.
Work Environment
Full-time position; may require evenings, weekends, or on-call availability.
Work involves both office duties and hands-on maintenance activities.
Exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and physical labor may be required.
Qualifications
Qualifications
3+ years of engineering/maintenance experience in a hotel, resort, or related facility; 2+ years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical).
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities.
Familiarity with OSHA standards, fire codes, and safety regulations.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Computer literacy with maintenance management systems (e.g., HotSos) preferred.
