is looking for a

Structural Engineering Mid-Level Manager

to join our team in

Berkeley, MO. The manager in this role will be instrumental in leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers working to define major airframe assemblies for a proprietary air vehicle. Coordinating with other engineering leaders, internal stakeholders, and external customers, this leader will have the opportunity to insert their prior experience and knowledge to define innovative, next-generation solutions to the development process. Position Responsibilities: Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers. Ability to travel 10% of time in support of suppliers, customer engagement and other program needs This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering or physics 5+ years of experience in the aerospace industry 3+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams 3+ years of experience as manager in which you had other managers as direct reports Experience leading Air Vehicle Structural Design or Analysis tasks on primary airframe components and assemblies Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering 5+ years of full time aerospace industry experience within Mechanical, Structural, Payloads, Design or Analysis engineering 5+ years of experience in Structural design Experience using Boeing Non-Recurring Product Development (NRPD) or equivalent Boeing Development Processes Experience utilizing Model Based Engineering to aid airframe build-to packages (BTPs) that are coordinated with supporting IPTs and meet manufacturing and fabrication needs Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering to ensure developed engineering satisfies weapon system requirements and program performance, cost, and schedule objectives Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM) fundamentals either as a Control Account Manager (CAM) or status taker Experience in developing proposals and in customer interactions related to defining, completing, and delivering typical development program CDRLs, deliverables, and artifacts Prior experience working on a Special Access Program This position is contingent upon award and offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
