Injection Molding Engineer A leading U.S. manufacturer of precision plastic components is looking for a senior‑level Injection Molding Engineer to join its team. The company specializes in low‑volume, high‑complexity parts for the aerospace, defense, and medical sectors, with a focus on tight tolerances and engineered materials. This is a newly created role due to growth, offering a unique opportunity to make a strategic impact across tooling, molding, and production. Responsibilities
Develop and optimize injection molding processes for tight‑tolerance, short‑run production Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for non‑conformances Collaborate with toolroom, mold design, and shop floor teams to align on process decisions Enhance documentation and input accurate process data into the ERP system Guide in‑house mold design/build and support tooling improvements Apply deep materials knowledge (thermoplastics/thermosets) Qualifications
10+ years of injection molding experience in tight‑tolerance environments Expertise with 30 to 100 ton horizontal presses (Arburg experience preferred) Background in low‑volume, high‑precision work (500 to 2,000 pieces per run) Experience in aerospace, medical, automotive, or other specification‑driven industries Familiar with in‑house tooling environments and cross‑departmental collaboration Strong understanding of ERP systems, documentation, and lean processes Preferred
Master Molder certification (RJG I/II) Experience with both thermoplastics and thermosets Engineering degree preferred (but not required with extensive experience) Environment
40+ Arburg horizontal machines, 30 to 100 tons Precision molding down to ±0.001 inches or tighter 300,000+ square feet plant with new expansion underway 350+ employees and growing Individual contributors are encouraged to drive change and own results Compensation
