The Role:
Responsible for problem solving and resolution of both voice of the process and voice of the customer driven issues. Develop timely solutions that minimize overall cost and time to implement while maximizing effectiveness using a considerable amount of creativity and initiative. What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Lead the Problem-Solving Team through the Launch Cycle Drive the Problem-Solving Team to Identify and Close all Issues during pilot builds Problem Solving for Plant and Customer Metrics through Root Cause and Corrective Action Coordinate Repair, Rework and Containment Activities for Identified Spills throughout Launch Participate in High Risk Supplier conference calls Create Problem Definition and Initial Root Cause and Engage Engineering Team for Implementation Lead/Participate in Build and Testing Issue Reviews and Wrap Up Meetings Viewed by other Resources, Teams and Suppliers as Problem Solving Expert Drive Product Changes Needed to Protect Manufacturing and Customer Requirements Support Vehicle Testing and Verification of Vehicle System at the Assembly Plant Facilitate and Drive Diamonds 1 through 4 and issue Supplier Notices for Part Quality Issues Facilitate Supplier Visits Primary Quality Contact for Launch activities Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience as Quality Engineer, Process Engineer or Reliability Engineer. Plant floor experience in a lean environment. Exercises independent judgment in managing complex and ambiguous tasks with minimal input from supervisor. Demonstrated ability to attain results, while balancing technical solutions with business imperatives. Solid analytical/problem solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems. Must excel at problem solving – root cause, containment, robust long-term solutions. Thorough understanding and capacity to effectively operate in all areas of the plant production process. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead diverse/cross-functional teams as well as mentor, motivate and elicit work output from peers and other team members. What Gives You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Demonstrated leadership skills. Advanced degree in Engineering. Familiar with 7-diamond process. Red X journeyman certification. Good understanding of SPC. Engineering Change Management (ECR)/Parts release familiarity. Familiar with pulling prints, reading drawings, working with Vismoc, GDIS, GSIP, GQTS, PRTS, PADs, gage strategies. Supplier audit experience. Knowledge of PPAP requirements. Experience in developing quality standards. Certified Quality Engineer.
