As a Controls Engineer, you will provide submittal packages to customers on medium and low voltage switch gear and provide technical support to the Sales team. You will provide project historical information to the Engineering team. Job Responsibilities
Review customer specifications and drawings. Design switchgear and controls utilizing AutoCAD Electrical or E-Plan. Education & Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical technology or related field with 8+ years’ experience. Master’s degree in electrical engineering with 5+ years’ experience. Required Skills
AutoCAD Electrical or E-Plan experience. Ability to read electrical drawings. Experience working with switchgear. Interpret customer specifications. Present clear detailed designs for production engineers to execute. Experience in the design of low and medium voltage switchgear. Research new part requirements, read manuals and contact vendors to ensure successful implementation. Detailed understanding of protective relays, their functions and proper applications. Basic understanding of PLC / SCADA communications networks and protocols. Have a detailed understanding of NEC, UL, ANSI and other standards. Basic understanding of generator controls and limitations. Desired Skills
Experience with generator sets. Experience controlling multiple generators which parallel to one or more utilities. Soft Skills
Ability to understand written instructions. Ability to communicate design challenges. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent business and commercial skills. Advanced organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills. Benefits
