Overview
We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer. There are multiple opportunities specializing in various industries and equipment. Maintain or perform controls on equipment ranging from injection molding presses, stamping presses, CNC machines, conveyors, sensors, vision systems, photo eyes, cameras, and robotic equipment (ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, Panasonic, OTC, Motoman, and more). Applications include welding, pick and place, material handling, paint, resistance welding, sealing, and more. Software Ranges Between:
Allen Bradley, Siemens V7, RS Logic 5000, Studio Logic 5000, Omron, Mitsubishi, or others. Shift Times for this Position: 1st Shift:
6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (8 Hour Days) and 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (10 Hour Days) - must be open to working until 4:30 PM when needed. (Monday – Friday & ½ day on Saturday) 2nd Shift (Flexible Start Time):
2:30 PM – 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM – 2:30 AM (Varies Between Start time and if we are working 8 Hours or 10 Hours) - (Monday – Friday & ½ day on Saturday) 3rd Shift (Flexible Start Time):
9:30 PM-11:30 PM to 5:30 AM-7:30 AM (Varies Between Start time and if we are working 8 Hours or 10 Hours) - (Monday – Friday & ½ day on Saturday) Key Responsibilities and Qualifications: Develop new machinery and hardware used for the control and monitoring of automated manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, robots, safety, HMIs, SCADA, network, vision, and motion control. Support plant equipment startup and debug by working with third-party system integrators. Develop requests for proposals to include control reliable secure architectures. Communicate with suppliers and guide their controls engineering departments on detailed implementations. Perform factory and site acceptance testing to validate equipment controls systems functionality. Support multiple plants to resolve complex controls failures and drive to long-term resolution with suppliers. Determine ways to take full advantage of new controls technologies to design world-class automation controls standards that minimize development time, commissioning time, and unplanned downtime. Write and own the standards, specifications, and procedures that must be followed both internally and by external vendors designing manufacturing equipment. Build out libraries of modular code and templates that will be used as the building blocks for manufacturing equipment across the entire company. Create tools to automate various steps in the development and deployment process, such as scripts for auto-generating PLC code or HMI screens. Design network topology that optimizes the equipment for remote accessibility, diagnostics, backups, data collection, and cybersecurity. Architect, write, and debug PLCs using Ladder Logic and/or Structured Text with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable. Generate user HMI and SCADA screens that are user-friendly, intuitive, and suitable for operating and troubleshooting equipment. Specify control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high volume manufacturing equipment. Design the interfaces for interaction between the manufacturing equipment and supervisory level systems such as the factory's Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Validate these internally developed standards and tools on production-representative lab equipment and virtual simulations to ensure high quality and robust behavior. Compensation Range: Hourly: $120,000 to $220,000 Benefits: Benefits are effective/available day one or after 30 successful days of employment.
