Account Manager

FirstFour Staffing is recruiting an Accounting Manager for a national maritime services firm located in Mobile, Alabama. The role oversees the Accounting Department, including payables and receivables clerks, a senior accountant, and the payroll manager.

Base salary range: $85,000 – $110,000 per year. Eligible for an annual bonus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce company policies and procedures related to the Accounting function.
• Maintain financial models, budgets, and all accounting reports.
• Oversee daily operations of the Accounting department, including payroll, accounts receivable and payable, and project cost accounting.
• Manage the preparation of financial forecasts and cash flow management.
• Prepare and complete end‑of‑year financial, overhead cost, and workers compensation audits.
• Manage the Accounting department staff, including hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and development.
• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for the board of directors.
• Prepare and communicate monthly and annual financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Greater than 5 years of experience in a senior‑level accounting role.
• Greater than 3 years of leadership experience.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including generally accepted accounting principles.
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and federal and state financial regulations.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Working knowledge of short‑ and long‑term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product‑line profitability analysis.
