Accounting Manager Job at Ledgent in Sacramento

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead their finance operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong leadership capabilities and experience in construction accounting.

Base pay range

$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all day-to-day accounting functions, including AR/AP, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes; prepare financial statements and reports.
• Manage job cost accounting and ensure accurate tracking of project-related expenses.
• Collaborate with project managers to analyze project budgets, forecasts, and job performance.
• Prepare WIP schedules and support revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion methods.
• Maintain internal controls, ensure GAAP compliance, and support audit and tax preparation.
• Supervise a small accounting team and foster continuous improvement across processes.
• Serve as the primary contact for external CPA firms, banks, and vendors.
• Provide administrative support as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Prior experience in the construction industry.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
