Summary
Corporate Accounting Supervisor with a construction company.
The Corporate Accounting Supervisor plays a key part in managing general ledger activities, financial close processes, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The Supervisor will also lead a team of accountants, provide guidance, training, and performance management while collaborating with various departments to support financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee general ledger accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by the accounting team.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervise a team of corporate accountants, providing leadership, coaching, and professional development.
  • Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the accounting team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and corporate accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
