Manufacturing Engineer

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods and processes for new and existing products.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering solutions to improve manufacture of new and existing products.
• Improve current production processes using applicable methods and procedures.
• Transfer new products into production from a design for manufacturability approach.
• Participate in developing and maintaining documentation for processes and designs.
• Understand key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish work tasks.
• Solve problems in straightforward situations and analyze possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion consistently in matters of significance.
• Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; variable schedules and additional hours may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of experience with composite materials and processing techniques such as autoclave, RTM, and compression molding preferred.

Essential Skills

• Experience with AS9100 quality management system.
• Excellent working knowledge of GD&T.
• Self-starter with excellent time management skills.
• Experience with marketing support, including meetings, presentations, and customer interface.
• Proficiency in technical writing for proposals and cost estimating.
• Ability to make technical, data-driven decisions and execute them with limited management support.

Work Environment

The role is based in San Diego, CA, fully onsite, within a leading provider of complex composite and polymer solutions for aerospace and defense applications.

Pay & Benefits

Pay range: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year. Competitive salary, medical benefits, 401(k).
