Overview

Niagara Bottling is looking for a Maintenance Technician – Night Shift to ensure equipment uptime through troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and plant facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other plant equipment.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with Niagara’s defined processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs safely and timely.
  • May fill in for production operator as needed.
  • Create and report repairs throughout shift; complete required work order paperwork and document parts and material usage.
  • Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation.
  • Use personal protective equipment where required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential for equipment and facility uptime.

Essential Functions

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years– experience in a field or similar maintenance environment.
  • Minimum 4 years– experience in the position.
  • Minimum 4 years– experience managing people/projects.
  • Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication of issues and solutions to cross‑functional team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics: electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
  • Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools.
  • Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of plant or machine center.
  • Will need own toolbox and basic tools.
  • Preferred 6 years– experience in field or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred 6 years– experience working in the position.
  • Preferred 6 years– experience managing people/projects.
  • Preferred experience in high‑speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
  • Preferred experience with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), servo drives, and servo motor technology.
  • Preferred experience with rotary equipment such as rotary press or filler.
  • Preferred knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processing.
  • Preferred familiarity with Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment.
  • Preferred HVAC experience including chillers and/or air compressors.
  • Preferred skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (MIG, TIG or stick).
  • Preferred skilled working with electrical systems including 480 VAC & 24 VDC power.
  • Preferred ability to read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams.

Education

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Preferred Associate’s Degree in manufacturing technology, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, automation, or related specialization.
