Senior Project Designer, Branding / Environmental Graphic Design

At Ware Malcomb, we are a dynamic and forward‑thinking design firm committed to pushing the boundaries of environmental graphics. The Senior Project Designer leads the research, strategy, concept development and implementation of wayfinding, placemaking and environmental graphic solutions across corporate, healthcare, retail, industrial and multifamily projects.

Base pay range: $90,000 – $120,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Engage clients from goal determination to presenting design solutions and building consensus.
• Develop creative design options and presentation materials, exploring three‑dimensional context.
• Prepare design documentation, coordinate production staff and produce production‑ready art files.
• Manage bid process, review shop drawings, print proofs, lead implementation coordination and prepare punch lists.
• Lead project scheduling, develop work plans, monitor budgets, pre‑billing reports and invoices to ensure financial success.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of environmental graphic design, wayfinding and placemaking experience.
• Experience from concept through construction administration phases.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Project management, time management and organizational skills to handle multiple concurrent projects.
• Expertise in code research related to signage, wayfinding and environmental graphics.
• Proficiency in Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD tools).
• Knowledge of SketchUp, Revit or other 3D modeling is a plus.
• Hand sketching ability to communicate concepts is a plus.
• Familiarity with fabrication, installation techniques, materials and construction specifications.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering plans.
• Strategic thinking, critical thinker, self‑motivated and strong ideation skills.
