Neuro ICU RN – Night Shift Travel Nursing Job

Location: Washington, DC 20007 – Prime Georgetown location with access to museums, dining, and entertainment
Unit: Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Comprehensive Stroke Center)
Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital
Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Job
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: November 3, 2025
Shift: 3 x 12‑hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00) per week
Total Hours: 36 hours per week
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1650 - $1770
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Charting System: Cerner
Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active DC Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience, including telemetry, ventilators, peripheral IV start; ICP experience preferred
At least 1 prior travel nurse assignment
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CCRN preferred)
Experience with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) system
Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
Two supervisor references required
Weekend shifts required as part of rotation
Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Neuro ICU RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological conditions (brain tumors, strokes, seizures, neuromuscular disorders)
Monitor and manage ventilators, intracranial pressure (ICP), EVDs, lumbar drains, and advanced neurocritical care equipment
Administer emergency medications, blood products, and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips
Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs), dysrhythmias, and perform phlebotomy and IV starts
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
Float to other critical care units as required
Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start
