Position Overview:
The
Controls Engineer
will be responsible for designing, programming, and supporting industrial automation and control systems across multiple production lines. This role requires hands‑on experience with PLC programming, HMI design, electrical troubleshooting, and integration of new manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement control systems for new and existing equipment
Program and debug PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime
Collaborate with maintenance, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to optimize automation performance
Support plant upgrades, system integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate documentation for electrical schematics, ladder logic, and network configurations
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (NFPA, OSHA, etc.)
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in controls or automation engineering within a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming (Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell preferred)
Experience with industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.)
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills
Ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams
Preferred Experience:
Robotics integration (Fanuc, ABB, or similar)
Servo and motion control systems
Vision systems and data acquisition
