Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Structural Engineering SME to join one of our largest customers in the U.S. This role will be embedded with a federal entity. This remote role will contribute to the design, analysis, and compliance of vertical infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with federal standards and mission‑critical objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead structural design efforts for federal facilities, including military installations, healthcare centers, and administrative buildings.
Perform engineering analysis and develop construction documents for vertical infrastructure.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural systems with architectural, mechanical, and electrical components.
Ensure compliance with federal design standards such as UFC, IBC, and agency‑specific guidelines.
Support proposal development and participate in federal RFP responses.
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team development.
Participate in design reviews and value engineering sessions with federal stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
Active PE or SE license.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in structural design, preferably with federal clients.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RAM).
Familiarity with DoD or VA design standards and processes.
Strong communication and project management skills.
Experience working in remote, distributed teams.
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
Prior experience supporting federal agencies
Knowledge of sustainable design practices and low embodied carbon materials.
LEED AP or similar certification.
Experience with federal procurement and contracting processes.
Compensation $70/hr to $76/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefits Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
