About the Position
Mayo Clinic is seeking a Boiler Technician to operate, maintain, repair and diagnose high‑pressure steam boilers and critical mechanical/plumbing systems at our Minnesota site. This nonexempt full‑time role works 24/7 rotating shifts, requires a Minnesota Boiler License – Class 2B within 18 months, and is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and safety of building infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Operate, maintain, repair and diagnose High Pressure steam Boilers, critical mechanical/plumbing systems and equipment relating to building Infrastructure.
Complete preventive maintenance per policies and/or procedures following the CMMS timeline ensuring regulatory compliance.
Demonstrates effective communication, assertiveness, and versatility in responding to customer needs.
Is able to plan, organize, and prioritize work tasks.
May be required to work with others in planning and scheduling for modifications and repairs to systems with minimal disruption to the mission of our organization while meeting fiscal constraints.
Is alert to all aspects of equipment when responding to customer requests and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel.
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possesses excellent human relations skills to interact with staff, visitors, and patients.
Serves as a resource and mentor to others.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One to three years electrical and/or plumbing maintenance experience preferred.
Minnesota Boiler License – Class 2B required within 18 months.
Compensation Detail This position has a predetermined starting rate of $23.43 per hour based upon union contract.
